DR. BANAFSHEH MADANINEJAD: Founder & Co-Executive Director

Dr. Madaninejad is a scholar-activist of Muslim Studies, Feminist Studies and Critical Race Theory and has taught at The University of Texas at Austin, Middlebury College and Southwestern University. 

She immigrated to the United States from Iran for college, studied Physics with a specialty in Chaos Theory; worked at NASA (Johnson Space Center and Jet Propulsion Laboratory); made short documentaries about Iranian politics, became a professor and stayed that way, before leaving in May 2019.

These days, it’s all about collecting and disseminating AMEMSA stories and anti-racist organizing.
