Bulbul Spring Youth Lobby Weekend

One of our yearly programs at Bulbul Collective is the Spring Youth Lobby Weekend.

Every year we team up with the Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL), North Texas Peace Advocates and Advocates for Youth to send between 20-30 Texas youth (18-30 years old) to DC during Spring Break to learn how to lobby the US Congress around progressive issues.

Our TX team is a mix of AMEMSA and Latino lobbyists. This camaraderie has proven a powerful combination. 

FCNL has been around since 1942 and is one of the oldest human rights advocacy groups in the nation. The Spring Youth Lobby Weekend (SYLW) brings 300-400 youth from around the country to Washington, D.C to learn and develop skills to become effective advocates.

Bulbul Collective wants to make sure we get some community youth included. 

Applicants who qualify for the full ride, will be asked to pay ONLY $100 for the whole 4-day event. Training, housing, transportation (including the plane ticket to DC), and some meals will be covered through generous community donations.
